What can I expect when I attend to find out about hearing protection?
You will be greeted by one of our friendly, fully trained reception team and introduced to your Senior Audiologist who will assess the health of your ears.
Your Audiologist will ask you some questions about your hearing and what you will use the hearing protection for to ensure that they recommend the best solution for you. You may feel that you would benefit from a hearing screening where your Audiologist can carry out an abbreviated hearing test to check for any hearing loss while you are in the clinic.
Once you and your Audiologist have agreed on the appropriate solution, the Audiologist will arrange for hearing protection to be ordered.
To ensure that your hearing protection moulds fit you perfectly the Audiologist will take an aural impression of each ear canal, by placing a small foam block into the ear canal before syringing a small amount of soft impression material into the outer part of the ear canal.
Once set this will be removed and sent away to the laboratory for a technician to make the instruments to your chosen design and fit.
Your Audiologist will then arrange a follow up appointment so that your bespoke hearing protection moulds can be fitted for you.
All House of Hearing clinics are in town centre locations and accessible to public transport and parking. Home visits also available if mobility is an issue.
