It's just possible that a compound in red wine might help combat hearing loss and cognitive decline. According to research published in scientific journal Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, rats given the plant compound resveratrol - which is found in red grapes - were less likely to suffer from the effects of noise - induced hearing loss.
However, it seems these rats were given the compound by itself - and not as it occurs in a glass of Merlot, for example. As too much alcohol will only ever damage your hearing (among other things), House of Hearing will be waiting for further study before stocking wine!
All House of Hearing clinics are in town centre locations and accessible to public transport and parking. Home visits also available if mobility is an issue.
