One of the nice things about working at House of Hearing is the sheer variety of hearing needs we provide for. Another is the interesting people we come across in the process. In the autumn, we were delighted to work with Dougie MacLean, Scotland’s finest internationally-renowned, contemporary singer-songwriter. Although his hearing is perfect, Dougie was looking for specialist musician’s earpieces to help him hear both himself & his backing band on the stage and, at the same time, live feedback from his enthusiastic audiences. Needless to say, we had the perfect solution to hand and produced some customised “live” musicians drivers that fitted the bill perfectly. Dougie was able to perform with these for the first time at the 2015 Perthshire Amber Festival. As well as a fantastic musician, he turns out to be a great man, and we loved working with him. If you haven’t heard him live we encourage you to seek him out next time he is performing near you. From “Caledonia” to music used in “Last of the Mohicans,” his repertoire is exceptional and now he’ll hear your requests for another encore! You can find out more about Dougie by visiting www.dougiemaclean.com.All House of Hearing clinics are in town centre locations and accessible to public transport and parking. Home visits also available if mobility is an issue.
