There have been some exciting changes to our St Andrews clinic which we’d like to share with you.
Patient safety and the quality of ear care that we provide has always been of paramount importance to us.
We have recently seen an increase in demand for our services partly due to referrals from our colleagues in the NHS and so we are delighted to inform you that we are now open 5 days a week 8.30am - 4pm.
We have always taken ear care seriously, which is why we employ the best people, use the highest-quality equipment in dedicated hearing centres, providing you with the safest environment for us to take care of you and your ears.
We have the only ENT nurse-led wax removal service in Scotland meaning we are the only wax removal service in the country registered with Healthcare Improvement Scotland.
Our ongoing commitment to being Covid-safe is demonstrated through our adherence not only to the general government guidelines around PPE and infection control but also the specific guidelines set by Healthcare Improvement Scotland and our own regulators the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) – this has enabled us to continue providing services throughout the entire Covid period.
We’ve invested in our IT processes to enable you to complete as much information as possible remotely, to keep you all safe. And since we are a dedicated hearing centre, combined with efficiently organised appointments, we are able to further minimise the risk of infection.
New addition to our Edinburgh clinic, Registered Nurse Emma Kidd has recently joined the House of Hearing wax removal team and will be holding regular clinic days in St Andrews. Alison Page will be joining Claire Gorgon as an addition to our Front of House team to support the longer opening hours and of course Phillip Page, our Senior Audiologist remains to see to all of your hearing needs.
To book a wax removal appointment, free hearing health assessment or have your hearing aids checked, please call us on 01334 470 011 or request an appointment on our website houseofhearing.co.uk
We have recently invested in a high-quality wall-mounted, medical grade microscope, enabling the Nurses and Audiologists to make the very best examination of your ear canals.
House of Hearing has also installed the latest video otoscope equipment enabling us to take video and high definition images of your ear canals and ear drum.
This is not only interesting for to see if you wish but also allows us to send information to fellow healthcare professionals should we need to make an onward referral.
All House of Hearing clinics are in town centre locations and accessible to public transport and parking. Home visits also available if mobility is an issue.
