At House of Hearing we offer many different services to ensure you receive the best care and attention for your needs. We don’t just give everyone with a hearing problem a new, expensive hearing aid, send them away and hope for the best.
When you contact House of Hearing with concerns about your hearing, you’ll be invited into one of our stores for a full consultation and hearing test. From there, the best options will be discussed, and if you need a hearing aid, you’ll be allowed a free, no-obligation trial of whatever model is best for you. We understand you need to use a hearing aid in your normal day to day life for a while to be completely sure there are no problems, concerns or niggles, and to be able to tell if it’s comfortable and functional. That’s why we encourage a free trial before purchase, so you know you’re making the right decision.
Amongst the other services available at House of Hearing is ear wax removal. Excess ear wax can worsen existing tinnitus, dull your hearing and cause damage to your hearing aid. Two methods of ear wax removal are available – ear irrigation, a process which introduces a controlled flow of warm water into the ear canal, and micro suction, which uses gentle air suction to remove the wax. Ear irrigation is not suitable to those with existing conditions such as a perforated eardrum or glue ear, and microsuction is offered as an alternative.
As well as offering hearing aids, other devices are available for the ears. We offer a range of hearing protection and custom earpieces. For those who work in or enjoy live music, those who ride motorcycles or those who shoot game, clays or target, we provide custom-fit bespoke hearing protection. We also offer in-ear monitors for musicians, to hear blended audio of performers, instruments and the crowd both clearly and comfortably. Similarly, earpieces for broadcasters are offered at House of Hearing, allowing a clear line of communication between TV presenters and their production staff. Finally, we offer earpieces for motorcyclists, which both protect ears and provide clear hearing. These can be connected to music sources, mobile phones and more.
Yet another of our services sees the production of custom-fitting plugs. If you live in a noisy neighbourhood, or have a partner who won’t stop snoring, you’ll benefit from a good night’s sleep, spurred on by soothing quietness provided by a custom-made sleep plug. We also offer custom-fit plugs for swimmers, to reduce the risk of infection and allow safe swimming for those with perforated eardrums. The swim plugs can also be personalised with a range of colours and glitter.
