Melanie is our Head of ENT Nursing, Clinical Lead and ENT Nurse Practitioner at House of Hearing. She has worked at House of Hearing since 2012 leading and providing our Aural Care / Wax Removal Service.
Her nursing career started in 2000 where she worked on an ENT, Head and Neck and Ophthalmology ward at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London, eventually gaining the position of Junior Ward Sister. During her time in London she completed three ENB diplomas including ENT, Head and Neck and High Dependency Care. Following her time in London she worked as a community nurse in Scotland before gaining the position of ENT Nurse Practitioner, specialising in otology and skull base surgery at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge before relocating to Scotland and joining House of Hearing.
Melanie has a diploma as a national trainer for Rotherham Primary Ear Care. This includes teaching Health Care Professionals on wax removal methods. While at House of Hearing Melanie completed her audiology training at Queen Margaret University.
In addition to all 3 types of Wax Removal Procedures offered at House of Hearing – Microsuction, Irrigation and Instrumentation, Melanie’s extensive experience means that she can deal with ear diseases and their treatment, ear surgery, ear health promotion, Paediatrics and can make direct private ENT referrals.
